SUCH QUESTION MANY HIV /AIDS PATIENTS OFTEN ASK ME ON EMAIL OR PHONE AS HOW MANY YEARS THEY ARE GOING TO LIVE WITH THIS INFECTION.MOST THINK AS ONCE THIS DISEASE DIAGNOSED MEAN SOON THEY WILL DIE .BUT IT IS NOT TRUE AT ALL ONCE DIAGNOSED MEANS SIMPLE ANTIGENS DETECTED OF VIRUS.BUT VIRUS GROWS SLOWLY AND DOWNS CD4 CCEELS ONCE THEIR POUPLATION LESS THAN 500 /ML OF BLOOD THEN VIRYUS PRODUCES SYMPTOS LIKE WEIGHT LOSS OR FEVER OR COUGHING OR SIMPLE THRUSH OR WHITE PATCH OR FUNGAL INFETION IN MOUTH.BUT EVEN SUCH SYMPTOS COMES AFTER 8-10 YRS OF INFECTION .
SO,Survival with HIV on effective treatment is variable and depends in many factors (HIV/AIDS history, presence of other medical problems such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, hepatitis, habits-ie smoking cigarettes-family history/genetics,continuity of changing sexual partners,reteated sex exposure without protections,drugs or nicotine intake,blood repeated contamination,not taking treatment,not living good life with good nutritious food and excercises and many other individual factors often not HIV related).
That being said persons doing well on HIV treatment increasingly have a life expectancy that is approaching that of similar persons without HIV particularly if the CD4 count is high (> 500) and the HIV levels are consistently undetectable..
so If HIV ?AIDS detected never get fear or tension or depression get all tests required and if CD4 less than 300 or 350 goto ART CENTRES IN GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS AND START TREATMENT if donot want to go there then go to private doctors and take treatment.now good less toxic medicines are available and by which CD4 WILL RAISE AND VIRAL LOAD OR QUANTITY OF VIRUS IN BODY WILL REMAIN LOW SO YOU WILL LEAD A GOOD LIFE AND WILL NOT SPREAD INFECTION TO YOUR PARTNERS,CHILDREN AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS .O YOU WILL LIVE NORMAL AND SHALL ALLOW OTHERS TO LIVE NORMAL.
