HIV /AIDS IS SUCH A NOORIUOS DISEASE THAT ONCE IT IS INSIDE IT NEVER GOES OUT,PERSON REMAIN INFECTED AND CAN ANY TIME VIRAL LOAD RAISES AND CAN DO HARM TO PERSON AND DEATH IF NOT TREATED.BUT LAST FEW YEARS STUDY HAS SHOWN THAT THIS HIV /AIDS IS COMPLETELY CURED AND SUCH STUDY HAS REWRITTEN A DAY OF HOPE IN WHOLE HIV COMMUNITY.SUCH STUDY HAS ALOSO ESTABLISHES THAT MULTIDRUG HAART OR ARV SHOULD BE INITIATED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO KILLL HIV NOT TO WAIT TILL CD4 COUNT FALL BELOW 350 AS DISEASE BECOMES MORE ADVANCED WHY WE SHALL WAIT TO TREAT CANCER WHEN IT IS IN ADVANCED STAGE GOOD RESULT COMES WHEN WE DETECT AND TREAT IN EARLY OR PRIMITIVE STAGE AS STAGE i OR CARCINOMA IN SITU.

BERLIN STUDY:--MR TIMOTHY RAY BROWN SUUFERING from HIV with LEUKEMIA and a stem cell implant or bone marrow transplant done from a person having CCR5-delta-32-mutation and he remains free of HIV as after this transpant HIV medicines not started and till now he is free of HIV.But in two other patients at Brigham and woman hospital where transplant done of bone marrow but not of ccr5 -delta 32 muttion and it was found that HIV RECUURED IN THEM.
The Mississippi Toddler :---
In April 2013, the story of a Mississippi toddler "functionally cured" of HIV captured world headlines. According to doctors at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson,the unidentified child was provided antiretroviral therapy at the time of birth, the treatment of which continued for 18 months until the mother decided to stop. Earlier qualitative viral load tests had earlier confirmed that the baby was, in fact, HIV-positive.When the infant was relinked to care after a five-month gap, all HIV tests were negative with no signs of the virus in either tissue or blood samples. While there remains some skepticism as to whether the child was actually infected (or if an infection had, in fact, been averted by traditional mother-to-child prophylaxis), increasing evidence suggests that early drug intervention may prevent HIV from embedding itself in the latent reservoirs of the body where it can persist for decades even in the face of antiretroviral therapy.

VISCONTI STUDY:----
The news of the Mississippi toddler was soon followed by a report from France that 14 out of 70 patients in the on-going Visconti Study were able to maintain fully suppressed viral loads without treatment after having been prescribed antiretrovirals within 10 weeks of infection.

In each of the cases, treatment was stopped prematurely by the patient. Of the 14 able to maintain persistent viral suppression (some for up over seven years), CD4 counts increased from an average of 500 to 900 cells/mL while viral loads dropped from 500,000 to less than 50 cells/mL. Further research is being conducted to ascertain whether other factors, genetic or virological, contributed to the results.

Both discoveries helped bolster the argument for a "test and treat" strategy, wherein HIV might be averted should antiretrovirals are started within days or weeks of infection. Whether early intervention can actually reverse infection—entirely eradicating HIV as suggested by the Mississippi toddler case—is still under debate.
